The Problem

Design a series of visually engaging posters within the constraints of a business card format. The limited scale required careful consideration of composition, hierarchy, and legibility, especially when working with expressive imagery and typography. I approached this as both a constraint and an opportunity to explore how much visual impact could be achieved in a small space. The challenge was to maintain clarity and intention while pushing the designs to feel bold and unconventional.

The Design Process

I began by experimenting with imagery and visual themes that could carry strong character even at a reduced scale. From there, I explored how typography could interact with each composition, focusing on placement, layering, and hierarchy to maintain readability. I worked iteratively, adjusting scale, contrast, and color to ensure each piece remained visually impactful without feeling crowded. Throughout the process, I prioritized clarity and structure, using the constraint of the format to guide more intentional design decisions.
